Economic and energy savings

Spain is one of the European countries with the highest levels of irradiation, which provides a wide margin for the implementation of photovoltaic technology in the country. The average levels of irradiation range from 1,250 kWh / m2 / year in the north of the country, near the border with France, and 2,400 kWh / m2 / year in the Canary Islands.

 The law of self-consumption regulates administrative, technical and economic provisions for the generation and supply of electricity and self-consumption (Royal Decree 900/2015, of October 9, which regulates the administrative, technical and economic conditions of the modes of supply of electrical energy with self-consumption and production with self-consumption). It should be noted that the Royal Decree affects all those supply points connected to the electricity distribution network. Isolated installations or off-grid installations (those that do not have any network connection point) are exempt from complying with the RD.

 The new law regulates two types of self-consumption, only self-consumption and self-consumption and sale, whose conditions diverge in certain aspects.

It should be noted that the self-consumption regulation allows the installation of energy storage systems such as batteries. These allow to take advantage of self-produced energy in times of high demand to those consumers whose load and generation curves are not optimally adapted.
 Our study contemplates the individualized investment based on the annual electric consumption, the time of return of the investment and the economic saving including all the variables of cost and maintenance over time.
